New Quilts and Fabrics
What have we
here? Paper dolls, really beautiful vintage paper dolls done up in fabric. If you loved paper dolls as much as
my cousin and I did and you spent hours carefully cutting around the outside edges of the paper dolls, you might have gotten
as excited as I did when I saw the paper doll fabric. There are three collections, two of which were manufactured by
Windham Fabrics. The first collection was so popular they printed a Christmas paper doll collection. The dolls
are beautiful and the outfits are just beautiful. Another company, Blue Hill Fabrics, put out a paper doll fabric
line that includes printouts of large fabric dolls and pets that can be sewn into cloth dolls. Well, they
need a home, so I have designed a townhouse for the precious playthings. The front door opens to
reveal storage for the dolls and the two wardrobes upstairs open so that the doll's clothes are readily
available for play time. The house is a quilt that can be hung on a wall or placed on the bed. Plans
are in the making for a Christmas house with fireplace and mantle, wreaths on the door and Christmas trees
on either side of the steps. This is grownup play time at it's best. We can say we are making these
houses for our daughters and granddaughters, younger sisters and neices and no one will suspect that we intend to
have as much, if not more, fun than the youngsters do. Kit comes with applique and regular quilt pattern
directions plus the fabric for the front and binding of the quilt.

A Note From Dorothy Ann: Peace by Piecing™, was
born after I left my life long profession, teaching in the public classrooms in Texas and Alabama. After
