The group who conceived of and made the quilt For the Love of Bettie ©PbP 2010 have sold over a fifteen hundred tickets.  I'm proud to say I know them, they are lovely ladies.
The quilt, For the Love of Bettie © PbP 2010 was designed by Dorothy Ann,.  It was pieced by the Live Oak Quilting Group who graciously allowed me to help.  It will be an Opportunity donation at the 2010 Relay for Life in honor of Bettie Gill a member of the group.  This Quest for a Cure fabric, Pretty Face by Ro Greg for Northcott Fabrics, was generously donated by Northcott.

The rising price of cotton, what about us?

What is this?  I have read in several places that the price of cotton is expected to double in price in the next year.  What goes up, does it ever come back down?  My last fabric order reflected a significant rise in the wholesale price per yard.  I wondered if it would be reflected in the cost per yard at the retail level and went surfing.  What I found is that indeed the price of retail quilting fabric has risen from about $8/9 per yard to $10/11 per yard.  Wow and oops!  Several reasons were given, but the bottom line is what about us?

New Fabric Choices
Hi,  My employees, Maryline, Judy and I have had the most rewarding two weeks.  We have sold so many kits that we wear ourselves out every day cutting, kitting and mailing them.  I'm sure there are those who are beginning to wonder if their kits will ever arrive.  They will unless we expire from exhaustion.  They are coming; we just couldn't have imagined just how successful the quilt would be.  Thank you so much, everyone.   Dorothy Ann
